Hung in a chunky length of West Cork ash, this macramé wall hanging features dense, intricate knotwork and rough cut bohemian fringe.
The piece measures 92cm X 48cm -- and though I didnt know what dimensions it would be when I started knotting (the design sort of revealed itself, like a sculpture, as I worked) I'm imagining that it was almost made for that weirdly shaped, awkward stretch of blank wall in someone's home who hasn't ever found anything just the right size, the right vibe, to fill it.
Knotted by the fireside on chilly November evenings on the Sheep's Head Peninsula.
