Macramé Workshop | February | West Cork
A soft Sunday activity with crafts + cacao
Join us in the cosiest of cosy settings, by the fireside in a gorgeous yurt overlooking Bantry Bay, and learn (or develop) the skills needed to knot up a macramé wall hanging.
Located just 2 miles from Bantry town, this sweet little yurt will be our home for a couple of hours while we gently sink into a knotting practice, drawing inspiration from ancient macramé techniques, modern aesthetics, and natural materials.
You don't need any prior macramé experience to join this class (and if you do have some knot knowledge, you're welcome to come and learn more advanced techniques/gain some in-person tutorials). Techniques will be taught from an absolute novice level. All that's required is a little bit of finger dexterity, eyesight, and willingness to open yourself up to a new creative experience.
We'll be using a combination of storm-felled branches, driftwood, and organic cotton. All materials are completely natural and biodegradable, so our impact on the earth will be minimal.
Your materials, as well as a warming cup of cacao, will be provided as part of your ticket price. Everyone will leave with their own handcrafted wall hanging, as well as the skills to continue their macramé practice and make many more designs for years to come.
Spaces are limited and pre booking is essential.
